Meet the Owner:
Sue Farace, CP-FS

Born and raised in the Baltimore, Maryland area, I have built my career around helping food service professionals succeed through practical, real-world food safety education. I graduated from the University of Baltimore in 1995 with a degree in Business Management and began my career as a construction accountant before discovering my passion for the food service industry.

In 1998, I made a career change by purchasing a mobile kitchen, which quickly grew into operating a bar and tavern, a seafood carry-out, and eventually a café. My hands-on experience owning and managing food establishments gives me a unique understanding of the daily challenges faced by restaurant owners, managers, and staff.

In October 2009, I became an authorized ServSafe® Instructor and Proctor, allowing me to train and certify food service professionals in nationally recognized food safety standards. Continuing my commitment to excellence in public health and food protection, I earned my Certified Professional – Food Safety (CP-FS) credential through the National Environmental Health Association in October 2014.

My teaching philosophy focuses on helping students understand the “why” behind food safety regulations, not just memorizing rules to pass an exam. By connecting food safety principles to real-world restaurant operations, I help students retain knowledge, improve compliance, and build safer food service environments.

Food safety education is more than a career for me — it is a passion. The greatest reward is hearing from students who say they finally understand food safety concepts and feel confident applying them in their kitchens every day.
